Wilma Faye Martin, age 91, of Minnie, KY, widow of Gobel P. Martin, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at her residence. She was born April 11, 1933 in Drift, KY, a daughter of the late Ed and Rachel Daniels McSurley. She was raised by her brother: Fred and his wife Edith McSurley who also preceded her in death.
Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church, McDowell, KY, a former employee of Johns-Mansfield and a former owner and operator of Martin's Best Way Market, McDowell, KY.
She is survived by one son; Wade (Jami) Martin, Minnie, KY, one daughter; Fredericka "Freddi" Tuttle, Minnie, KY, daughter-in-law; Beth Martin, White House, OH,, one brother; Roger McSurley, 8 grandchildren; Wesley Tuttle, Brandi Fishback, Chad Tuttle, Amy Martin, Tia Loza, Bella Martin, Eric Martin and Wesley Martin; 12 great grandchildren. 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and her fur baby; Buttons.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son; Lance Wesley Martin, son-in-law; Terry Tuttle, three brothers; John, Eddie and Lee Curtis McSurley, four sisters; Lillie, Exer, Ida Rose and Audrey, three half brothers; Billy, Charles and Robert Combs.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Arnold Turner Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery, Minnie, KY, visitation is after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY. Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Tuttle, Chad Tuttle, Eric Martin, Wesley Martin, Gabe Tuttle, Noah Toney and Kendrick Fishback.
