On November 18, 2021, the Lord called Violet P. Shelton age 90, of McDowell, KY, to her Heavenly home. She was born on June 10,1931 in McDowell to the late John William Parsons and the late Phena Francis Akers Parsons.
Violet was the wife of Teddy Shelton for nearly 60 years. She is also survived by four children: Rhea Chandis Pack Compton (Blake), Johnny Ray Pack(Peggy), Timothy Warren Pack(Cheryl) and Taunya Shelton-Northup Mendenhall (William) Nine grandchildren, Eleven great-grandchildren, and Two great - greatgrandchildren . She is also survived by her dear sister, Vera P. Shelton.
Violet was a charter member of the McDowell First Baptist Church where until later years faithfully played piano and organ, and sang in the choir. She was a Christian for Seventy-Five years. She loved to read, write poetry, search and write geology, and spend time with her family. She wrote a book of Akers-Parsons Family Geology and a book of beautiful poetry.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond Pack, as well as Six brothers, and Two Sisters.
Violet will be sorely missed and loved by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, November 20,2021 at 1:00 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Harry Hargis officiating . Burial will follow in the Lucy Hall Cemetery, McDowell, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements. Visitation is after 6:00 PM Friday November 19, 2021 at the Hall Funeral Home.
