Veyon "Von" (Newman) Newsome

Veyon "Von" Newman Newsome, age 73, of Grethel, KY widow of Greeley Newsome, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the Highlands Appalachian Regional Hospital, Prestonsburg, KY. She was born April 3, 1947 in Grethel, a daughter of the late Oliver an Mildred Hamilton Newman.

Von worked as a CNA, mail carrier, custodian and caregiver, she was a member of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church (Indian Bottom Association).

She is survived by one son, Mickey (Teresa) Newsome, Grethel, one brother; James (Betsy) Newman, Grethel and one sister-in-law; Lorraine Newman, Harold, KY.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Newman.

Funeral service for Veyon "Von" Newman Newsome will be conducted Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 12 noon in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Effie Hall Newsome Cemetery, Grethel, visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday with church service at 7 p.m.
