Troy Lee Branham, age 72, of Paintsville, formerly of Floyd County, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at his residence due to extended illness. He was born on October 14, 1947 at home in Grethel, KY, the son of the late Elisha and Goldie McCoy Branham. He was an elder and assistant moderator of the New Salem Old Regular Baptist Church at Harold, KY. He was a veteran, having served the US Army in Vietnam. He was the President of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 482, and a director of Chapter 321. He was an avid golfer, loved to play guitar, and was a retired auto-body business owner.
He is survived by his daughter; Dr. Jessica Lee (Evan Barret Smith) Branham, East Point, KY; son Jimmy Branham of New Brockton, AL; brother; Kenton (Sheila) Branham, Odenville, AL, sister; Ann Sigler, Mt. Vernon, OH, and two granddaughters; Lydia Kate Branham Smith and Elizabeth Laurel Branham Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Russell, Usley, and Elisha Branham Jr., three sisters; Anzie Branham, Marie Tackett, and Ada Samons.
Given the current health risks of COVID-19, the family plans to have a more formal memorial service and celebration of life at a later date to be arranged through the New Salem Association of the Old Regular Baptist Church.
In the meantime, a limited visitation and funeral will be held at the Hall Funeral Home in Martin, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020 after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Branham Cemetery, Grethel, KY.
