Thurman "Itchy" Lafferty

Thurman "Itchy" Lafferty, age 79, of Prestonsburg, KY, husband of the late Geraldine Blair Lafferty, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his residence.  He was born September 27, 1945 in Martin, KY, a son of the late Bill and Eunice Gray Lafferty.  He was a member of the House of Prayer, a 55 year member of the John W. Hall Masonic Lodge, No 950 F&AM, also a retired coal miner and truck driver.

He is survived by two sons; Paul (Teresa) Lafferty and JD (Ida) Lafferty, all of Prestonsburg, KY, one daughter; Robyn Lafferty, Prestonsburg, KY, three sisters; Sue (Wendell) Wells, Nell (Ernie) Carter and Billie (Timothy) Tucker, all of Prestonsburg, KY, six grandchildren; Zach (Tabitha) Lafferty, Chelsea (Daniel) Pugh, Jamie (Sam) Parton, Jessica Lafferty, Austin Lafferty and Abigayle Lewis, 10 great grandchildren and one on the way.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother; Willard Lafferty and one sister; Jewell Bays.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Brent Tackett officiating.  Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Masonic Service at 7 p.m.  Burial will follow at a later date at the Lafferty Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY.
