Teresa Lynn "Terry" (Hunter) Akers

            Teresa Lynn "Terry" Hunter Akers, age 67 of Dana, KY, widow of Perry Akers, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1953 in Ohio, a daughter of the late David E. and Billie Meade Hunter. She was a retired office manager at Betsy Layne Elementary School and a member of the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church.

            She is survived by two sons: Charles David (Lula) Akers & Perry Todd (Tina) Akers both of Dana, KY; one daughter: Mary Breann (Steven) Rogers, Lexington, KY; nine grandchildren: Noah David Akers, Tayler (Chris) Wright, Samantha (Will) West, Tara Akers (Ben Tilley), Laikin Tackett, Kailyn Akers, Harrison Rogers, Hudson Rogers and Jayda Crum; four great grandchildren: Amriella Wright, Waylon Wright, Liam West and Asher West; one future great grandchild: "Baby Tilley"; six special great grandchildren: Jaden Minix, Katie Marsillett, Adam Woods, Kelli Lykins, Luke Lykins and Logan Lykins; two nieces: Leslie Minix and April Woods; one  nephew: Ernest Jeffrey Campbell and one brother-in-law: Larry Akers.

In addition to her husband and parents, Terry was preceded in death by two sisters: Brenda Hunter and Patricia "Patty" Campbell.

            Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church with Tony Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Family Cemetery, Dana, KY and visitation will be after 5:00 PM Monday and all day Tuesday at the church.
