Teddy John Ermal Allen Shannon, age 98, of Drift, husband of the late Alberta Shelton Shannon, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 20, 1926 in Drift, KY, a son of the late Harve and Molly Cartmell Shannon.
Ted was a retired coal miner and the Pastor of the Drift Pentecostal Church for 74 years. Ted was saved August 8, 1948 and was baptized August 21, 1948. He started Pastoring on August 30, 1950.
On September 3, 1948 he married the love of his life Alberta Shannon, in Paintsville, KY.
Surviving are two daughters; Kathy Joann Stumbo and Peggy Jean Pack, two special sons-in-law; Gregory Stumbo and Johnny Pack, five grandchildren; Belinda (Earl) Cook, Genna (Greg) Johnson, Steven Stumbo, Teddi Leigh (Bobby) Cyrus and JoJo (Mikey) Hall, thirteen great grandchildren; Bridget (Justin) Triplett Hall, Billie (Austin) Johnson, Holly (Thomas Hall) Shannon, Brandi (Derrick) Luttrell, Chelsea (Kenton) Hall, Blayze (Sophia) Stumbo, Hayden (Chloe) Hall, Brook (Gavin Slone) Stumbo, Kansas (Samantha Thompson) Stumbo, Shelton “Squeak” Hall, Trey Frasure, Hunter (Maddy Wade) Hall and Alyah Stumbo, twelve great-great grandchildren; Branson, Justice, Jagger, Bristol, Waylen, Cora, Kruze, Brock, Atlee, Cason, Mayer and Journey.
In addition to the love of his life Alberta, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers; Jeff, Lee, Bill, Joe, Harry and Denver Shannon, four sisters; Susie Fraley, Myrtle Bellamy, Sally Hall and Ermie Cox.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Drift Pentecostal Church, Drift, with Shawn Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Drift Cemetery, Drift, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday at the church, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
