Sydney Layvonne Ratliff

Sydney Lavonne Ratliff, age 89, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Adrian, Michigan. She was born October 26, 1935, in Langley, Kentucky, the daughter of Allen and Mary Ann Lafferty Ratliff. She was a retired teacher of 32 years, seven of them in Kentucky and 25 in Ohio.

She was preceded in death by both parents; brothers Ellis, Ernie, Elzie, Oliver, Ollie, Samuel, Jimmy, Henry, Luther, Rondel, and Edgel and sisters Gladys Bailey, Myrtle Ratliff, Goldia Francis, Bertha Ratliff, Lula Bradley, and Shirley Amburgey.

She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Jett officiating. Burial will follow at Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky, visitation is from 12 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 16 at Hall Funeral Home.
