Stephen Rae Farthing

Stephen Rae Farthing, age 69, of Langley, KY, husband of Emma Bates Farthing, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his residence.  He was born December 2, 1949 in Indiana, a son of the late Ira Raymond (Oeida) Farthing and Ruby White (Roy) Pollett.  He was a member of the Graceway United Methodist Church, a member of the Gideons and a retired Grocery Store Manager.

In addition to his wife, Emma, he is survived by two sons; Stephen (Toni) Farthing II, Paducah, KY, Dr. Kevin (Youtha) Farthing, Prestonsburg, KY, three daughters; Sandra (Reggie) Hall, Prestonsburg, KY, Samantha Farthing, Elsmere, KY and Kellie Farthing, Winchester, KY, two sisters; Roetta Farthing, Lexington, KY and Anita Jenkins, Irvine, KY, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Carolyn Gault.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is from 6 until 9 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
