Ruth Patterson Obituary

Ruth Lee Lester Patterson, age 90, of Prestonsburg, KY, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at her residence. She was born June 20, 1929, in Iaeger, WV, a daughter of the late General Jenk Lester and Mary Alice Shupe Rose and step father, Clarence Rose. She was a US Marine Veteran, a retired school teacher, a member of the NEA, the KEA and the Floyd Co KY Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by one daughter: Beverly Pruitt, North Middleton, KY, six grandchildren; Carla Davis, Chuck (Kim) Davis, Clarence (Valerie) Davis, Tabitha Mason, Nellie (Bobby) Hamilton, Dennis (Kellie) Pruitt, Jr, 10 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and one granddaughter-in-law; Vicky Pruitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Mose Mullins, Jr., two daughters; Loretta Bush and Beechie Pruitt, one sister; Georgia Lester and one grandson; Douglas Pruitt, Jr.

A private family service is scheduled with burial to follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV.
