Rondell Lawson, age 84, of Bossier City, Louisiana, formerly of Garrett, KY, husband of Jacquline “Jackie” (Hayes) Lawson, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the Intensive Specialty Hospital, Shreveport, LA. He was born October 7, 1935 in Lackey, KY, the only child of the late Bud and Bertha (Case) Lawson. He retired after 30 years as Foreman for the National Mines Corporation, a member of the Garrett Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters: Danise Lawson, Bossier City, LA, Ronda (Adam) Wright, Belton, TX, two sons; Rondell Darrell Lawson, Metropolis, IL, Tim (Leslie) Lawson, Metropolis, IL, 10 grandchildren; Marsha Johnston, Whitney Riche’, Antonio Rivera, Julius Gaines, Lauren Salyer, Hayes Lawson, Graham Lawson, Millie Lawson, Micah Justice, Kiley Lawson and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Keith David Lawson.
A private family viewing is planned for Saturday, May 9, 2020 with burial to follow in the Lawson-Turner Cemetery, Garrett, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the American Heart Association in his honor.
