Robie Akers

Robie Akers, age 86, of Prestonsburg, KY, husband of Lorene Meade Akers, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY.  He was born February 18, 1939 in Toler Creek, Harold, KY, a son of the late Robert and Lillie Hall Akers.  He was a member of the Lower Toler Church of Christ and Betsy Layne DAV Chapter 169.  He was also a US Army Veteran and retired body shop foreman from Johnson Motors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; Brandon (Summer) Spears, Banner, KY, Phillip (Cathy) Akers, Harold, KY and Tim Akers, Martin, KY, three daughters; Tashea (Lee) Goble, Ivel, KY, Tabatha Spears, Pikeville, KY and Priscilla Akers, Louisville, KY, ten grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Dave Akers, two brothers; Jake Akers and Curtis Akers, five sisters; Pearl Thacker, Nancy Mulkey, Carlie Sturgill, Ruby Akers and Stella Salisbury.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel.  Entombment will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
