Ransom Meade

Ransom Meade, age 101, of Betsy Layne, KY, husband of the late Christine Clark Meade, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.  He was born December 16, 1923 in Blue Moon, KY, a son of the late Robert and Myrtie Case Meade.

Ransom married the love of his life Christine Clark Meade on December 24, 1949 and celebrated 66 years of marriage.  

He was a member of the Betsy Layne Church of Christ for many, many years and was loved by all.

A husband, father of 5, grandfather of 13, great grandfather of 25 and great-great grandfather to 7.

Ransom is survived by Jerry and Diane Spears Meade, Pikeville, KY, Roger Meade, Wichita, KS, Loraine Meade Wells and Anthony Wells, Hanson, KY, Johnny Meade, Betsy Layne, KY, Julie Meade Eichmann and Calvin Eichmann, Sioux Fall, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Myrtie Case Meade, wife Christine Clark Meade, daughter-in-law; Betty Book Meade, and many beloved siblings, family members and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 12 noon at the Betsy Layne Church of Christ with Bob Harper officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Private burial to follow.
