Perry V. “Benny” Castle, 73, of Deerfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning January 19, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Quinton Township. Born in Drift, KY, he was the son of the late Donald L. and Goldie M. Castle (nee Sexton).
A nurseryman by trade, he had worked for Harmony Valley Nursery in Upper Deerfield Township for many years prior to his retirement. Benny was avid hunter and angler but his true passion was in painting. He also loved to visit his large family in Kentucky. One of his greatest joys was hanging out with the “coffee club” at the Red Barn Deli in Deerfield Street.
He is survived by three children, Mike Castle, Jennifer Castle Sanchez (Ray) and Lynsey Difilippantonio (Josh), grandchildren, Collene McCoy, Mallory Paulding, Justin Johnson, Ethan Johnson and Hannah Difilippantonio, sisters, Annette Kidd of Drift, KY, Karen Short (Gary) of Pennsville, brothers, Donald Castle Jr., Jack Castle, David Castle and Charlie Castle (Freda) all of Drift, KY, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his best friend Jerry Lane.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy, Richard, Wade and Larry Castle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday afternoon, January 23rd at 3 o’clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce Street in Bridgeton with family friend, Dawn Roeske officiating.
Additional Memorial visitation in Kentucky will take place on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 7 p.m. at the Drift Pentecostal Church, Drift, KY.
The interment will take place on a later date at Drift Cemetery in Drift, KY
