We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Hall Funeral Home
Peggy Ann Bartley Ousley, age 87, of Prestonsburg, KY, wife of Edward E. Ousley for 63 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Martin ARH Hospital in Martin, KY. She was born October 31, 1934 in David, KY to the late Tandy and Ethel Brown Bartley. Peggy was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, Christian, homemaker and one of the original members of the Prestonsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 40 years, where she was still an active member of.
She is survived by two daughters, Tanda Kaye Bailey of Hazard, KY and Edwina Gaye Ousley of Martin, KY, one brother, Billy (Donna) Bartley of Dothan, AL, and one sister Tudy (Richard) Carlton of Walla Walla, WA.
Peggy, who was know as Nanny or Nanny Goat, to her five grandchildren; Cameron (Brittany) Bailey, Kelsey Bailey, Taylor (Eric) Back, Weston (Katie) Hicks, Halee Hicks, and four great grandchildren; Havyn Bartley Back, Cooper Ace Back, Beckett “Knox” Couch, Beckham “Coast” Bailey, and Amelia Kate Hicks.
Peggy also left behind a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
To know Peggy was to love her, she was always willing to help you, listen to your problems or just give you her opinion, which you may or may not have wanted. She had a spunky side and could, for the most part, keep Ed in line. She accomplished a lot in her life but nothing could compare to the love she had for her family and her love and devotion to God. She was a very Godly and Christian woman, always trying to keep everyone on the straight and narrow. We all could be more like her and if everyone was more like Peg, the world would be a better place.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Bartley, one sister, Jacque Heflin, and one great grandchild, Ripley Hamilton.
Memorial service for Peggy Ann Bartley Ousley will be conducted Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 6 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with John Baker and Kevin Shearer officiating. Visitation is from 3 until 6 PM Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home,
In lieu of flowers, Peggy would have liked for everyone to make a donation to the Prestonsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church or to the Floyd County Animal Shelter.
