Ottie Rae (Sammons) Rice

Ottie Rae Rice, age 69, of Prestonsburg, KY, widow of Willis Howard Rice, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY.  She was born August 7, 1950 in Prestonsburg, KY, a daughter of the late Lee and Rhonda Sammons.  She was a member of the Auxier Freewill Baptist Church and a former clerk for Branham and Baker Coal Company.

She is survived by her children; Willis Hal Rice, Stephanie Campbell and Charlie (Sonya) Rice, all of Prestonsburg, KY, three brothers; Columbus and Eddie Sammons, Prestonsburg, KY and Elbert Sammons, Warsaw, IN, four sisters; Beatrice Branham, Allen, KY, Jennie Anne Owens, Joyce Tussey, David, KY and Mary Margaret Syck, Palgra, WI, eleven grandchildren; Brandon Holbrook, Ashley Meade, Joshua Holbrook, Jade Howard, Victoria Hall, Shyanna Rice, Evan Rice, Keagan Prince, Bryce Holbrook, Kenlee 'Reese" Rice and Luke Rice.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Chester and Robert Sammons, two half brothers; Johnny and Cecil Whitt, three sisters; Grace Thornsbury, Ailene Walls and Jo Anne Holbrook and one grandson; Casey Campbell.

Private Family Funeral service will be conducted Friday, with the burial to follow in the Rice-Sammons Family Cemetery, Blue River, KY.  A link for the live stream of the funeral will be available on the Hall Funeral Home, Facebook Page Friday afternoon around 2:00 p.m.

Family and Friends may stop by the Residence, 163 South Cardinal Dr., Prestonsburg, KY 41653, on Saturday, from 12 noon until 6 p.m. to visit and reflect Ottie's life.
