Morris U. Hylton Jr., age 77, of Banner, KY, husband of Marcia Kay Bowling Hylton, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY. He was born February 18, 1947 in Cody, KY, a son of the late Morris “Doc” and Cuba Marie Breeding Hylton.
He was a self-employed businessman owning and operating Hylton Homes and Sales since 1977. Morris also served his country in the Vietnam War where he received 2 Purple Hearts due to injuries received in service, he was a member of the Chapter 169 Disabled American Veterans, Betsy Layne, KY and the El Hasa Shrine, Ashland, KY.
In addition to his wife, Marcia, he is survived by two sons; Morris “Marty” Hylton III, Sarasota, FL and Marcus “Jamie” (Lisa) Hylton, Prestonsburg, KY, one brother; Bill (Betty) Hylton, Sevierville, TN, three sisters; Reva Watts, Hager Hill, KY, Sharon (Russell) McIntosh, Prestonsburg, KY and Yvonne (Doug) Bentley, Litt Carr, KY, six grandchildren; Jayla, Avery, Jade, Jacob, Marcus and Mila.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Linda, Patty, and Sue.
A celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain Arts Center, Prestonsburg, KY.
