Maxie Howell Obituary

Maxie Judy Howell was born September 5, 1927, in Grethel, Kentucky to the late Rod and Francis Hall and passed away in her home on Saturday, February 20th, 2021, making her stay in this life Ninety-three years, five months, and fifteen days.

She was the wife of the late Foster Howell. On May 2nd, 1947 she married the love of her life Foster Howell, to this union were born five children, Roy, Roma Lou, Larry, Michael, and Timothy.

 

She was baptized in June 1992 and joined the Old Regular Baptist Church she was a member of the Zion Old Regular Baptist Church, living her life for the Lord, Twenty- eight years and eight months. She was a hard-working Mother, a housewife and she worked outside the home at the Jenny Wiley Lodge and the Bargain Center. She enjoyed going to church, gardening and working in her beautiful flowers, and cooking for her family, if you visited her she always wanted you to have something to eat. She was preceded in death by her husband Foster Howell, her Son Michael Howell and Daughter-in-Law Tammy Howell, and Granddaughter Tameric Michelle Howell.

She leaves to mourn her passing a Daughter Roma Lou (Lee) Maggard of Grethel, KY, and three Sons, Roy (Sue) Howell of Teaberry, KY, Larry (Anna) Howell of Grethel, KY, and Timothy (Pattie) Howell of McDowell, KY.

Eight Grandchildren, Sandra (Jeffrey) Brown, Kelvin (Sandy) Howell, Anthony Howell, Stephanie Howell, Cory Howell, Cody Howell, Erica Howell, and Kimberly Albala.\par

Four Great-Grandchildren Nicholas Stumbo, Megan Stumbo (Tai Powell), Madison (Derek) Hall, and Dylan Albala.

Six Great-Great Grandchildren Stephney Stumbo, Rachel  Stumbo, Noah Stumbo, Jiraiya Powell, Adeline Hall, and Cade Hall.

Special Caregivers Michelle Bailey, Dorothy Newsome, and Zoey Bell.

She was the last surviving of her 14 siblings, Mary Belle, Martha, Maudie, Nannie, Doney, Bessie, Chloe May, Walter, Walker, Bill, and Clarence Bee, and two infant siblings.

We will cherish our memories of her and hold them close in our hearts. Heaven has gained a very special angel. she was very special to all her family.

 

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, February 25 at 12 pm in the Hall Funeral Home chapel, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the W.J. Hall Cemetery in Grethel Ky. Visitation will begin after 6 pm Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the funeral home with church services each night at 7 pm.
