Mary Jean (Anderson) Johnson

Mary Jean Anderson Johnson, age 76, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. She was born in Hite, Kentucky, on January 24, 1944 to Alex and Allie Anderson (nee Taylor).

On July 26, 1961 Mary married Harmon Johnson in Martin, Kentucky. For the first twenty years of their marriage, she worked at home raising their five children. In the 1980's she went on to graduate with a nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati. She worked in the geriatric nursing field for over twenty years as a Registered Nurse. Mary loved to travel, cook, and garden with her husband, Harmon. She loved genealogy and was constantly researching her family history. Her zest for life, and love for her family, will never be forgotten by those who knew her.

Mary is survived by her beloved children, Robert H. (Stephanie) Johnson, Michael (Joan) Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Alexandra (Mark) Singleton; grandchildren, Charlotte (Justin) James, Robert H. Johnson, Jr., Adriana Johnson, Holly Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Jr., Thomas Johnson, Allyson Johnson, Sean Singleton, and Payton Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jesse James, Raeghan James, Ryleigh James, McKenna Mills, and Audrey Mills; siblings, Donald Osborne, Dolores Biedegar, Maryland Osborne, and Shannon (Darryl) Wells; her two beloved cats, Buttercup and Princess; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 59 years, Harmon Johnson; child, Joe "Josie" Johnson; parents; and six siblings.

Mary's family would like to thank the staff at Mercy-Fairfield, Home at Taylor's Pointe, Stay Well Home Health, and Bella Care Hospice for their wonderful care.

A celebration of Mary's life will take place at Hall Brothers Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky on 11/7/2020 between 12pm-2pm. Burial will take place at Anderson-Osborne Cemetery.
