Martha Ellen (Gilliam) Sammons

Martha Ellen Sammons, age 65, of Salyersville, KY widow of David Marlee Sammons, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in the Highlands ARH hospital, Prestonsburg, KY. She was born December  8, 1959 in McDowell, KY a daughter of the late Raymond Gilliam and Thelma Marie Newsome Gilliam, Prestonsburg, KY. Martha was a homemaker.

    In addition to her mother she is survived by one daughter, Sharlonda (Tim) Matthews, Salyersville, KY, one brother; Johnny Gilliam, Wheelwright, KY, two sisters; Kathy (Hugh) Hall, McDowell, KY, Katrina Hall, Banner, KY, two grandchilden; Brantson Carroll and Shana Lee Matthews.

    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Raymond and Earnie Gilliam, and one sister; Kayla Gilliam.

     Funeral service for Martha Ellen Sammons will be conducted Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Bo Rogers and Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery, Dry Creek-Grethel, KY. Visitation is from 6 PM until 10 PM Tuesday and from 10 AM until 10 PM Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home.
