Marie (Melhem) Tackett

Marie Melhem Tackett, age 101, of Midlothian, VA, formerly of Melvin, KY, widow of Homer Tackett, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at the St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian, VA.  She was born September 19, 1924 in Cairo, Egypt.

Marie was the former owner and operator of the Little Y Drive Inn, Melvin, KY and the Bypro Dairy Freeze.

She is survived by one daughter; Paulette McBride, Wildwood, FL, daughter-in-law; Patty Tackett, Lexington, KY, four grandchildren; Dena Tackett Schenck, Todd Tackett, Heather McBride and Leslie McBride, seven great grandchildren; Mia and Cole Tackett, Hadley, Brinley and Bode Schenck, Ryleigh and Hunter Morse.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son; Dr. Jerry Tackett.

The family will have a private family gathering from 12:00 - 1:00 followed by funeral mass Wednesday, July 29th, from 1:00 P.M - 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
