Margaret M. Stumbo (Jones), 86, of Ypsilanti, Michigan passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2024. Born on November 28, 1937, in Betsy Layne, Kentucky, she lived a life full of love, kindness, and resilience.
Margaret was a devoted wife to Perry Stumbo Jr., with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage, and a loving mother to her four children: Tommy (Jan) Stumbo of Milan, MI; Linda Stumbo Barlow (Bill) of Canton, GA; Scott (Marlene) Stumbo of Ypsilanti, MI; and Chad Stumbo of New Boston, MI. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Perry Stumbo Jr., sister Barbara Slone, and her parents, Anna Sue Caldwell Jones and William Arthur Jones.
Margaret’s legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Jeremy Stumbo of Milan, MI; Bill Barlow (Laura) of Boca Raton, FL; Travis Stumbo (Sally) of Ypsilanti, MI; Taylor Colegrove (Dean) of Ypsilanti, MI; and Haley Stumbo of Milan, MI. She was also a proud great grandmother to six great-grandchildren: Alex, Cooper, Collins, Cora, Andy, and Nova.
A talented hair stylist for 30 years, Margaret also had a successful career as a realtor and was a proud graduate of Mayo Technical College. She was known for her warm spirit, sharing her talented cooking, love of Christmas and unwavering support for her family. Her laughter was infectious, and she had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. She enjoyed spending her last years enjoying time with her friends at the local Senior Center,
Visitation will be held at Hall Funeral Home in Martin, KY, on Friday from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a service on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
