Leo J. Rice, age 95, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Banner, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1928 in Banner, KY, a son of the late Elmer and Nicy Jane Conn Rice. He was a member of the Allen Baptist Church, a US Army Korean War Veteran and a self employed plumber, pipe fitter and equipment operator.
He is survived by two sons; Leo David (Teresa) Rice, Banner, KY and Stephen Craig (Laura) Rice, Shelbyville, KY, one daughter; Delilah Rice (Brian) Hill, Strawberry Plains, TN, nine grandchildren; Matthew Stephen (Nathalie) Rice, Lauren Rice (Izak) McQueary, Charles Andrew (Amanda) Rice, Chauncey Austin Meade, Preston Arrison Meade, Payne Addison Meade, Logan Osborne, Matthew Trevor Hill and Zachary David Hill, four great grandchildren; Jack Walker, Clark David and Walter Stephen McQueary and Reagan Charlotte Rice.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife; Maxine Hall Rice, second wife; Nan Hewitt Rice, one brother; Charles Rice, two sisters; Cathryn Sanderson and Betty Jo Rice.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, visitation is from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
