Went home to Heaven and was welcomed by Jesus and Janalyn, on Monday, January 30, 2023, surrounded here by his loving family. He was born August 8, 1944, in Honaker, Kentucky, the son of Glen and Elizabeth (Howell) Hale.  On December 29, 1962, he married Janalyn George at the United Methodist Church in Betsy Layne, Kentucky, and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2013. A retired employee, Larry worked as a  Millwright at Motor Wheel in Ypsilanti, for 30 years.  He was a very active and devoted member of Victorious Life Church of God in Ypsilanti for over 50 years.  Larry was a competitive Basketball and Softball Player (Ypsi Legend) and loved to play Golf. He was Trustee at Green Oakes Golf Course; a Committeeman for U.A.W. at Motor Wheel; LOVED getting together for BBQ’s and Picnics with family and friends as well as a great love of U.K. Basketball!  He is lovingly survived by his two sons: James A. (Tracey) Hale and Ray B. (Lisa) Hale four beloved grandchildren: Mattison (Katherine) Hale, Mary Elizabeth Hale, Kayla Rae (Justin) Dykes and Cassidy Clare (Angel) Aguilar; one great grandson: Isaiah Gerard Hale; three loving sisters: Clara Friar, Bessie (Eugene) Maynard and Glenda (Porter Preston) Layne; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Mattison “Buck” Hale, Jack Hale and Kane Hale. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Victorious Life Church of God, 860 E. Clark Rd., Ypsilanti, MI 48198 with his son, Pastor Jim Hale officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, also at Victorious Life Church of God from 3:00 – 8:30 p.m. In Lieu of Flowers, the family has suggested that contributions in his memory please be made to the Victorious Life Food Ministry.  Envelopes will be available at the Church.  Further time of Family Consolation will be held at Hall Funeral Home, 331 Ky Route 122,  Martin, Kentucky 41649,  on Friday, February 3, 2023 beginning at 4:00 p.m. A short Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at  Hale Family Cemetery, Harold, Kentucky.
