Larry Douglas Thompson

Larry Douglas Thompson, age 75, of Allen, KY went to be with the Lord Monday morning, June 20, 2022 Larry was an active member of First Baptist Pikeville and a beloved figure in his community. He served his community as a board member of the Allen Volunteer Fire Department.  Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After a short stint of retirement, Larry returned to Sandy Valley Hardware where customers came accustom to his endless jokes and stories .

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Thompson, his grandson Maddison (Kara) Thompson of Morristown, Tennessee, his great-grand children Cassia Thompson and Julian Thompson of Morristown, Tennessee as well as countless other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dwaine Thompson, his parents Ked and Vera Thompson, His brothers, Richard Thompson, Clyde Thompson and Ked Jr. Thompson. His sisters, Bessie Morrow, Nell Cartmell, and  Marie Bevins.

Funeral service for Larry Douglas Thompson will be conducted Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with John Lucas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.  Visitation is after 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 22 at the Hall Funeral Home.
