"Kenny" David Kenneth Caldwell

            David Kenneth "Kenny" Caldwell, age 75 of Prestonsburg, KY, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 in the Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. He was born December 3, 1950, a son of the late Kenneth and Imogene Burchett Caldwell. He was a retired teacher, dedicating thirty-one years to the Floyd County Schools System. He also was a deacon at the First Baptist Church, Irene Cole Memorial and a founding member of the Cow Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where he continued to take an active role.

            He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years: Wanda Hoover Caldwell, Prestonsburg, KY; two sons Adam Caldwell (Melissa Pacovich) and Jordan (Morgan Caldwell, both of Prestonsburg, KY; two grandchildren: Jude and Jensen Caldwell; one sister: Judy (Jimmy) Curnette; one sister-in-law: Carletta Caldwell; one niece: Lorna (Wes) Stevens; two nephews: Jim Morgan (Ramona) Caldwell and Chad Caldwell (Michelle Elkins) along with numerous grand nieces and nephews, all of Prestonsburg, KY.

            In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by two brothers: Jim and Bill Frank Caldwell and one sister-in-law: Linda Caldwell.

            Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, Irene Cole Memorial, Prestonsburg, KY with Steve Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Burchett-Caldwell Family Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY and visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
