Kathern (Watkins) Sanders

Kathern "Nanny" Sanders, age 98, of Betsy Layne, KY, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Riverview Health Care Center, Prestonsburg, KY.  She was born Apri l17, 1926 in Magoffin County, KY, a daughter of the late Riley and Dosha Cole Watkins.  She was a member of the Betsy Layne Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the DAVA.  Nanny was also a homemaker she loved to crochet, garden and take care of her bees.

She is survived by two sons; Johnny and Robert Sanders, both of Betsy Layne, KY, one daughter, Eunice (Paul) Sanders Lawson, Banner, KY, one sister; Faye (Freddy) Wicker, four grandchildren; Randy Trish, Johnny and Sherman, six great grandchildren; Nikitta, Sammy, Ryan, Justin, Katie Pearl and Kaye Leigh, five great-great grandchildren; Gavin, MacKenzie, Marlee, Maci and Emmett.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Cecil Sanders, two brothers; Delbert and Elmer Watkins, one sister; Ruby Haynes and one grandson; Timothy Sanders.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Harper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
