Obituary

Julius C Martin, Sr., age 86, of Prestonsburg, KY former teacher, insurance agent and banker passed away on 24 Aug 2023 in Lexington, KY. He was the son of Sam and Nora Newsome Martin

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Mary Rose Tuell; Son, J. Clint Martin II and daughter, Virginia Ann (Brett) Davis. Grandchildren: Amanda Carole (Wesley) Borden, Julius Clinton "Jay" (Madison Shull) Martin, III, Elizabeth Rose Davis and Alexander Martin Davis. Great-Grandchildren: Talon, Lennon, Maddox, and Judith Rose.

Julius's parents preceded him in death; Brothers: Sam Martin, Jr. and a stillborn baby boy Martin; Sisters: Betty Jean (Robert) Wellman of Nashville, TN and Phyllis Eileen (Elhanan Pete) Grigsby, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, 27 August 2023, at Hall Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Bishop Kent Dingus officiating. Burial will follow in the Mayo Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY. Visitation will be Saturday, 26 August 2023, at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
