Joseph Lee Hamilton of Pikeville, Kentucky, 51, died Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
He was the son of Squire Hamilton and Menda Hamilton. Joseph loved Jesus, his church, and his family. He was a businessman for many years and owned many stores. Joseph was a member of the Old Regular Baptist. He was preceded in death by his mother Menda Hamilton; two brothers; Squire Hamilton Jr and Larry Hamilton; and one sister Joanne Hamilton.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 28 years, Stephanie Hamilton of Pikeville, Kentucky; one daughter, Brianna Hamilton of Pikeville, Kentucky; his father Squire Hamilton (stepmother Laura Mae) of Harold, Kentucky; two sisters, Jeanette Van Buren McCracken (Dave) of Ashtabula, Ohio and Jeanie Moore (Archie) of Mousie, Kentucky; one brother, Scott Hamilton (Nancy) of Geneva, Ohio; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Powers of Pikeville, Kentucky; and a brother-in-law, Jared Powers of Pikeville, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
