John Edward Hicks

          John Edward Hicks, age 70 of Hueysville, KY passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hazard, KY. He was born February 20, 1949 in Floyd County, KY a son of the late Oscar and Hazel Salyers Hicks. He was a retired school teacher.

          He is survived by two sisters: Pearlie Slone and Virginia (Art) Hughes both of Hueysville, KY; one brother: Charles Ray Hicks, Hueysville, KY: one sister-in-law: Claris Hicks, Attica, OH and a host of nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers: Sonny, Blaine and Bill Hicks; one sister: Mary Lou Hicks; one sister-in-law: Louise Hicks; one niece: Denice Hughes and one nephew: Rick Hicks.

          Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Mitchell Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery, Prater Fork, Hueysville, KY and visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home.
