John Roger Dotson

John Roger Dotson, age 73, of Middle Creek, KY, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at his residence in Floyd County, KY. Born on September 23, 1951, in Prestonsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Everett Dotson and Pauline Barnes Dotson of Prestonsburg, KY.

John worked at American Standard for 10 years as a Plastics Mold injection Lead Man then retired from Pontiki Coal as a licensed Dynamite Blaster. John was a member of the Fitzpatrick First Baptist Church, Prestonsburg. He was Baptized on September 17, 2017.

He is survived by his daughter, Leann George (Ted) of Prestonsburg, KY, and son, Kevin Dotson (Melinda) of Prestonsburg, KY; two sisters, Darlene (Paul) Honeycutt of Prestonsburg, KY, and Tamera (Craig) Miller of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren, Lucas George, Emma (Paul) Stanley, Mason (Monica) Holbrook, Austin Holbrook (Alondra), Jonathan Dotson, and Connor Dotson; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his Parents, his Wife Lisa Melbourne Dotson and a sister, Nadine Dotson Vance. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 12 noon in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery, Ruff and Tuff Br., Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
