John Edward Childers, age 53, of Martin, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 19, 1966 in Ypsilanti, MI, a son of Sandra Clouse Childers of Martin, KY and the late James David Childers.
He was a US Army Veteran, a maintenance worker. John was a musician, who loved to play the banjo. He made a television appearance with Melvin Goins. He also loved Corvettes, Bluegrass Music and listening to Ozzy's Boneyard.
In addition to his mother, Sandra, he is survived by two sons; John Childers, Deane, KY, Luke Childers, Columbus, OH, three daughters; Samantha (Ryan) Portwood, Pikeville, KY, Hope (Alan) Maggard, Pikeville, KY and Heather (Kyle James) Childers, Ashland, KY, one sister; Deborah Childers; Martin, KY, four grandchildren; Mylah James, Grayson, Revan and Piper Maggard, niece; Shala (Eric Grass) Childers and his dogs; Buddy and Bridgette.
He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter; Angel Childers.
Memorial visitation will be conducted Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 2 p.m. until 10p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
