Joann (Kidd) Watson

Joann Kidd Watson, age 74, of Dana, KY, wife of the late Vaughn Watson, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Our Lady of the Way ARH, Martin, KY.  She was born February 6, 1948 in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of the late Elder Dennis Kidd and Alpha Akers Kidd.  She was a member of the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons; Jeff Watson, Dana, KY and Danny Paul (Charity) Watson, Winchester, KY, two daughters; Denise (ReRun) Prater, Hueysville, KY and Mary Ann (Chris) Stanley, Betsy Layne, KY, two brothers; Danny Ray (Barb) Kidd and Bill (Lisa) Kidd all of Dana, KY, four sisters; Jan Akers, Dana, KY, Janet Kaye (Keith) Akers, Winchester, KY, Carol (Greg) Akers, Harold, KY and Pauletta (Edgar) Hughes, Dana, KY, one brother-in-law; Carlos Akers, thirteen grandchildren; Dylan, Jessica, Taylor, Keisha, Dani, Ashely, Braydon, Brianna, Alex, Emily, Jonathan, Allie, Emily, fourteen great grandchildren; Ronnie, Logan, Thomas, Ellenor, Kayden, Asher, Jayleigh, Dallas, McKenna, Ruey, Kialey, Paislee, Adilynn and Braelynn.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one sister; Anna Sue Akers.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church, Dana, KY, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Watson Family Cemetery, Justell, Betsy Layne, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday at the church, with services each evening at 7 p.m., under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
