Jimmy Joe Derossett, age 93, of Prestonsburg, KY, husband of Rebecca Faye Hall Derossett, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Prestonsburg Health Care. He was born August 10, 1932 in Floyd County, KY, the son of the late Jim and Hazel Deboard Derossett. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Prestonsburg, KY, a US Army Korean War Veteran and retired as an agent from Commonwealth Life Insurance.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; James Jeffery (Jane) Derossett and Christopher Michael Derossett, son-in-law; Adrian Bentley, five grandchildren; Caitlin Bentley (Shane) Thayer, Leslie Bentley, Ethan Derossett Matthew Derossett and Daniel Derossett, one half sister; Bobbie Sue Lester Fairchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother; Grace Chiconte Derossett, daughter; Rebecca Joe Derossett Bentley, half siblings; Clyde Derossett, Etta Lester Martin, Brenda Lester Shelton, Ray Lester and Ottie Lester.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery, Banner, KY, visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
