Jeanette W. Palmer, a devoted mother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 13, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 87 years old.
Born on April 1, 1938, in Drift, Kentucky, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Randal and Verlie Ward. She graduated from McDowell High School in 1956 and went on to earn an associate degree from Pikeville College.
In June 1964, Jeanette married Lyle R. Palmer Sr., in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her professional journey with Bell South spanned several cities, including Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, and Birmingham, where she was known for her diligence and dedication.
Jeanette was a longtime member of Judson Baptist Church, where her faith and compassion for others were evident in all she did. She had a deep love for reading and found great joy in helping those around her.
She is survived by her beloved son, L. Roger Palmer Jr.; her sister, Betty Lou Dye (Milton Dye); and her sister-in-law, Mary Daniels. She also leaves behind cherished family members Dorothy Ann Hayes, Doug Dye, Randy Ward, Tracy Hayes, Tabitha Dye, and Vernie Daniels.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Randal and Verlie Ward; and her brothers, Johnny Daniels, Jessie Ward, and Bobby Ward.
Jeanette's warm spirit, thoughtful heart, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY, with a graveside service to follow at the Lucy Hall Cemetery, McDowell, KY.
