Jay Dee Spears

Jay Dee Spears, age 71, of Dwale, KY, was born December 10, 1953 in Prestonsburg, KY, to the late Ellen Marie Spears, passed away October 14, 2025.  He was a retired coal miner.

He is survived by his wife; Sharon Kay Stacy Spears, one son; Justin Dee (Brandi) Spears, two grandsons; Kaiden and Branson Spears, daughter at heart; Shera Lynn "Winnie Pooh" (Ryan) Wagoner, two nieces; Ellen (Josh) Blanton and Samantha (Brandon) May, two nephews; Jeffrey (Jackie) Goble and Brandon "Bulldog" (Summer) Goble, special cousins; Tealie Prater and Bonnie Thompson, five step-children; Crystal Horne, Chuck Horne, Mark Horne, Laura Pinson, & Keith Ramey; a special grandson; Jordan Horne; along with a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister; Laura Marie Spears Goble and nephew; Christopher "Beagle" Stephens.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, October 17, 2025 at 700 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Brown officiating.  Visitation is after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
