Jane (Layne) Ratcliff

Jane Ratcliff, age 80 of Prestonsburg, KY, wife of Raymond Ratcliff, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY.  She was born June 22, 1940 in Floyd County, KY, a daughter of the late Robert Edgar and Lillian Leatha Walters Layne.  She was a member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church, a volunteer at Highlands ARH, a former employee at Betsy Layne Manufacturing, U.S. Shoe Factory and the Electronics Department at Walmart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter; Jamie Ratcliff, Prestonsburg, KY, brother; William Andrew (Dorothy) Layne, Harold, KY, sister; Patricia Ann Hall, Logansport, IN, special niece; Samantha Clark, brothers/sisters-in-laws; Randall (Shirley) Ratcliff, Salyersville, KY, Sheila (John) Williams, Banner, KY, Debbie (Ronnie) Samons, Martin, KY, Gary Ratcliff, Allen, KY and Paul Daniels, Rittman, OH, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Jeanetta Sue Layne and Lila Maynard, two brothers-in-law; Claude Hall and Harvey Maynard.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church, with Dr. Mark Tackett officiating.  Burial will follow in Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and after 11 a.m. Sunday at the church.

The funeral will be available for Participation on Facebook live. In light of public health concerns in regard to the ongoing pandemic, the family respects and supports the decision of all those who choose to participate online.
