James “Pete” Mullins , age 83, of Harold , Kentucky, went to be with the lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia. He was born on February, 2, 1939, in Grethel, Kentucky to Burnis and Billie Mullins.
Pete was the owner and operator of Mullins Trucking for 30 years, during which time he made many wonderful friends who were like family to him. The truckers joked with him about being the only man who could drive a coal truck all day while wearing a white t-shirt and come home with it just as white as when he left that morning. To Pete Cleanliness was next to godliness. He was well known in the community because he never met a stranger. When you saw him that hand extended for a warm hand shake and a smile on his face that could light up a room, you had to love that man.
During his lifetime, one of the many passions Pete accomplished was being able to buy and sale antique vehicles and Toyota trucks. Pete believed that treating other people with respect and honesty were traits that everyone should exemplify and that's how he had hundreds of return customers. Pete was a man of integrity and if he gave you his word you could count on it, of course, he expected that in return.
Pete met and married his wife Joann on April 10, 2001, He told everyone daily, she was heaven sent and was the love of his life, because only God could have given him a woman like her to spend his golden years with each day. The one special person in Pete’s life was holding his hand when he took his last breath was his daughter Hollie. He hung the stars and the moon in her eyes because he taught her so much about life and how important it was to treat people with love and kindness.
In the past few years of Pete’s life, he was searching for home each day when the sun began to set, he would say he felt lost in this world or place. However, he is not searching anymore or lost he is home resting in the arms of Jesus.
