James B. "Brud" McKinney, age 81, of Harold, KY, husband of Norma Jean Hall McKinney, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born April 17, 1938 in Toler, KY, a son of the late Claude and Mecie Salisbury McKinney. He was a member of the Mother's Home Old Regular Baptist Church, the Betsy Layne Senior Citizens, a Kentucky Colonel and a retired coal miner.
In addition to his wife; Norma Jean, he is survived by one son; Cheyenne (Connie) McKinney, three daughters; Joycie (Jack) Shell, Monica (Don) Akers and Cathy McKinney, four brothers; Dan, Bill, Larry and Mack McKinney, three sisters; Bertha Ray, Patsy Hall and Genevieve McKinney, ten grandchildren; Alicia, Adam, Jacki, Whitney, Andrew, Courtney, Nick, Austin, Brandie and Johnna and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Carrie Lee McKinney and Bobbie Fern Hall and one grandson; Tyler Akers.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers and other officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt Cemetery, Cam Branch, Harold, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday at the funeral home, with church service each evening at 7:00 p.m., under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
