James Kevin Rister

   James Kevin Rister, age 50, of  Garrett, KY, son of the late James Eugene Rister and Patricia Francis., Boons Camp. KY,  died Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Boons Camp. He was born February 26, 1972 in Prestonsburg, KY.

   In addition to his mother he is survived by two sons, James Trenton Rister, Mousie, KY,  Austin (Taylor) Rister, Ft. Wayne, IN one step-son; Tyler Owens, Mousie, KY, two daughters; Samantha (Kyle) Croft, Ft. Wayne, IN, Katherine Hope (Derick) Halley; one step-daughter; Taylor Hicks, Mousie, KY, two brothers; Byron Rister, Prestonsburg, KY, Jamie Yoder, MI, one sister; Susie (Scott) Howard, Oil Springs, KY, special friend; Shawn Francis, Garrett, KY, aunts; Mary Elizabeth Setser, Prestonsburg, KY, Shirley Collins, Garrett, KY, Cheryl Lawson, Rochester, IN, Sherry Lyons and Tammy Wicker, both of Mousie, KY, three uncles; Jack Rister, Lackey, KY,  Paul David Rister, Mousie, Garry Rister, Garrett, KY and several grandchildren.

 Funeral service for James Kevin Rister will be conducted Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 1 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery, Stone Coal-Garrett, KY. Visitation is after 6 PM Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home.
