James M. Potter, age 76, of Garrett, KY, husband of Pearlie Jackson Potter, died Thursday, April 4, 2024 in the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born July 17, 1947 in Garrett, KY a son of the late James and Mae Boyd Potter. James was a US Navy Veteran, a retired Electrician and member of the Garrett First Baptist Church.
He survived by two daughters, Becky (Larry) Smith, Hueysville, Tonya (Jimmy) Pratt, Garrett, KY, one brother; John Wayne (Kim) Potter, Langley, KY, three sisters; Gloria (Freddy) Hall, McDowell, KY, Anita (Shiron) Turner, Berlin Heights, OH, Alice Potter, Wheelwright, KY, five grandchildren; LaMikka (Logan) Crowder, Jordan (Tyra) Pratt, Haley (Robert) Thacker, Charles Potter, Adalyn Potter, and four great grandchildren; Bailey & Easton Crowder, Taylee & Tessa Pratt.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, James Jeffery Potter.
Funeral service for James M. Potter will be conducted Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 1 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Blaine DePoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Family Cemetery, Garrett, KY. Visitation is from 6 until 9 PM Saturday at Hall Funeral Home.
