James Houston

   James Earl Houston, age 84, of  Prestonsburg, KY, widower of Katy Jean Miller Houston, died Saturday, February 21, 2026 in the Kenwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond, KY. He was born in Cypress Inn, TN a son of the late Learoy C. Houston and Rachel M. Brewer Byron. James was a retired truck driver, US Army Veteran and member of the Spurlock Bible Church.

  Survivors include two sons, Johnny Ray Hughes, Corpus Christi, TX, James Anthony Houston (Kim), Prestonsburg, KY, two daughters; Trina L. Houston (Bobby) Frazier, White Pine, TN, Alicia Houston Justice (Jason), Pikeville, KY,  and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY. with James Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Reffitt Cemetery, Spurlock Cemetery-Prestonsburg, KY. Visitation is from 11 AM until 1 PM Wednesday, February 25 at Hall Funeral Home.
