Jackie Dean Thornsberry, age 76, formerly of McDowell, KY, husband of Judy A. Lawson Thornsberry, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 at his residence in Adams, WI. He was born May 15, 1950 in Kite, KY, a son of the late Jeff and Mable Thornsberry. He was a member of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church (NSA), a US Army veteran and a retired coal miner.
In addition to his wife Judy, he is survive by one son; Jeffery (Angela) Thornsberry, Oxford, WI, two sisters; Bonnie Horvath, Louisville, KY and Linda Elliott, Richmond, KY, five grandchildren; Thomas Nathan Thornsberry, Jack Anthony Thornsberry, Evelyn Grace Thornsberry, Julia Ann Thornsberry and Haylee Jo Thornsberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Jonathan Brett "Jon-Jon" Thornsberry, one brother; Sammy Thornsberry, two sisters; Judy Ann Dennett and Kathy Lea Thornsberry.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church (NSA), McDowell, KY, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery, Doty Creek, McDowell, KY, visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday at the church, with service each evening at 7 p.m., under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
