Hargus Martin Jr.

Hargus Martin, Jr., age 89 of Hueysville, KY, husband of Ada Bentley Martin, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY.  He was born July 1, 1936 in Hueysville, KY, a son of the late Hargus and Julia Layne Martin.  He was a retired coal miner and truck driver.  He loved the outdoors particularly fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son; Donald (Brenda) Martin, two daughters; Delisa (John) Howard and Doris Martin all of Hueysville, KY, five grandchildren; Wes Howard, Donetta Wallace, Leah Turner, Andrea Thacker and Nathan Bartrum, eleven great grandchildren; Lakyn House, Brooklyn Moore, Amelia Wallace, Keithen Moore, Lydia Wallace, Ryder Thacker, Gabrielle Howard, Chloe Howard, Maddox Howard, Bentley Howard and Emery Bartrum

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Jimmy Martin, two sisters; Norma Jean and Alice Martin and one grandson; Matthew Prater.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday, March 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Willie Crase officiating.  Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery, Hueysville, KY, visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
