Gilbert Roland Boyd

            Gilbert "Roland" Boyd, age 83 of Dayton, OH, husband of Glenda Wright Boyd, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 in the Grandview  Hospital, Dayton, OH. He was born January 16, 1935 in Dana, KY a  son of the late Henry and Nicie Conn Boyd. He was a construction worker and a member of the Local 1410 Laborers Union for 52 years.

            Along with his wife, he is survived by one son: Steven Boyd, Dayton, OH; five brothers: Howard, Ben, Edsel, Roger, Bob Boyd and three sisters: Dorothy Akers, Thelma Gilbert and Hester Crooks.

            In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by one daughter: Rebecca Boyd; one brother: Elbert Boyd and one sister: Edith Hall.

            Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 12 noon at the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church, Dana, KY with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Family Cemetery, Justice Branch, Dana, KY and visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday at the Church.
