Georgene Johnson, age 88, of Kite, widow of Johnny Johnson, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. She was born August 3, 1935 in Kite, KY, a daughter of the late Luther and Effie Martin Hall. She attended the Old Regular Baptist Church, was a Gold Star wife, an avid homemaker, a former server at the Golden Lamb and loved to garden.
She is survived by one son; Thomas James (Christie Cox) Johnson, Kite, KY, one daughter; Sherry Lynn (John Meadors) Pacheo, Kite, KY, two sisters; Zada Colleen Duncil and Geronda Hall, both of Kite, KY, eight grandchildren; Terry Michael Johnson, Heather Carmichael, Christopher Jackman, Michael Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Brittany Lynn Johnson, Johnathan Jackman and Olivia Johnson, numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sons; John Patrick, Timothy Dean and Terry Michael Johnson, two brothers; Wallace Hall and Jimmy Hall, one sister; Mabellene Hall, two grandsons; Joshua Slone and Kevin Darrell Johnson and one great grandson; Michael Scott Johnson.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, Kite, KY, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery, Kite, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home, with service at 7 p.m. with Bill Craft officiating. Visitation will be again on Thursday after 2 p.m. at the Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, with service at 7 p.m. with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating, burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery, Kite, KY, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
