Garnet (Spurlock) Weddington

Garnet Weddington, age 79, of Hazard, KY, widow of Bert Weddington, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Hospice Care Center, Lexington, KY.  She was born March 10, 1942 in Floyd County, KY, a daughter of the late Cas and Verlie Salisbury Spurlock.  She was a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by three children; Terralyn Weddington, Robin (Eddie) Combs and Ronald (Tammy) Weddington, all of Hazard, KY, one brother; Bill (Joan) Spurlock, Dana, KY, six sisters; Ruby Patton, and Peggy Hall, both of New London, OH, Marcella Price and Mary Lawson, both of Harold, KY, Kathlene Crum, Martin, KY and Betsey Newman, Grethel, KY, six grandchildren; Josh (Shannon) Watts, Jacob Watts, Zack (Robin) Brashear, Abigail (Josh) Hilton, Kaitlin (Tim) Olivendal and Cas Weddington, eight great grandchildren; Isabella, Halee, Molly, Maverick, Dazee, Callie, Logan and Rolf.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Bobby, Sherrill and Leonard “Dude” Spurlock and one sister; Irene Conn.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday, November 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY, burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, visitation is after 5 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home.
