Frankie Faye (Handshoe) Prater

Frankie Faye Handshoe Prater, age 85, of Gunlock, KY, widow of Valice Prater, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY.  She was born August 3, 1938 in Magoffin County, the daughter of the late Alexander and Della Shepherd Handshoe.  She was a member of the Calvary Faith Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by one son; Robert (Penny) Prater, Salyersville, KY, two daughters; Kathy (James) Chitti, Prestonsburg, KY and Patsy Reed, Pikeville, KY, three grandchildren; Mark Vincent (Brenda Elizabeth) Chitti, Robert Shane (Sarah Beth) Prater and Desirae Dawn (Shelton) Stowers, three step grandchildren; Amanda Brooke (Zachary) Arnett, Monique Noelle (Nicholas Robinson) Gamble and Jason Quade (Joleana Allen) Gamble, four great grandchildren; Noah Alexander and Jonah Xavier Gasparc, Annaliese Neveah and Gage Vincent Chitti, six step great grandchildren; Leilah Amber and Robert Dason Burchett and Kolton James Beech Risner, Neveah Rain Arnett, Skyler Eric Arnett, & Khloe Grace Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Howard Conley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Brushy Bill Cemetery, Gunlock, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
