Eulene Hamilton Ratliff, age 84, of Martin, KY, widow of the late Roy Odis Ratliff, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hospital, Lexington, KY. She was born August 12, 1939, in McDowell, KY, a daughter of the late Butler and Cecelia Hamilton. She was a retired school teacher and social worker for the Floyd County School System. She attended the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and the DAV. She was a member of the Martin City Council, Floyd County Library Board and a volunteer for the Red Cross.
She is survived by one son: Rory Greg Ratliff (Lola) Lexington, KY; four daughters: Sherry Lorraine Ratliff, Prestonsburg, KY, Regina Robin Hall (Zenith) Wheelwright, KY, Cecelia Hazel Ratliff Hamilton, Prestonsburg, KY, Jimmie Eulene Wilson (Carl), Lexington, KY; two sisters: Vendal Lois Wells, Salyersville, KY, Brenda Sims, Ypsilanti, MI; special sister at heart: Freda Barnett Calhoun; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Turner, Jason Turner, Stephanie Akers, Kelley Johnson, Steven Slone, Sarah Ratliff, Laura Hall; eight great grandchildren: MJ Akers, Lindsey Johnson, Gabriel Akers, Olivia Johnson, Ava Johnson, Mason Slone, Austin Slone and Bailee Ratliff.
In addition to her husband, Eulene was preceded in death by one brother: James Butler Hamilton; two sisters: Pluma Elaine Branham and identical twin sister, Pearlie Lorraine Hamilton.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Shad Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery, Eastern, KY and visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Thursday and after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home.
