Emmett Lawson

Emmett Lawson, age 82, of Dana, KY, husband of Velma Yates Lawson, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born August 3, 1938 in Honaker, KY, a son of the late Columbus and Oma Martin Lawson. He was a member of the Red Creek Church of Christ and a self employed Entrepreneur and Business Owner. He also was an avid gardener with specialty in fruit trees and evergreens.

In addition to his wife Velma, he is survived by one son: Chris (Jennifer) Lawson, Harold, KY, one daughter; Angela (Jimmy) Anderson, Pikeville, KY, one sister; Coyette Lawson, five grandchildren; Breanna (Brandon Woods) Anderson, Jerred (Jenny) Chapman, Chelsi Hamilton, Lauren (Kevin) Thacker and Tamaira (William) Ramey, six great grandchildren; Elena Bautista, Tatum Woods, Brynlee Hamilton and Conner Ramey, Kaden Ramey and Henry Chapman as well as  a special friend; John Michael Johnson niece; Stephanie Sanders great niece; Darian Sanders and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son: Ronnie Lawson, two daughters; Tammy Sanders and Pamela Elizabeth Winn, two brothers; Roy and Okie "Burr" Lawson, four sisters; Maudie Hill, Elizabeth Yates, Reba and Sheila Lawson and one grandson in law; Scotty Hamilton.

Funeral service for Mr. Lawson will be conducted Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY. Visitation is after 5 PM Saturday and all day Sunday at Hall Funeral Home.
